FAQ

Was ist Perlite?

Product description

Want to get the most out of your tea plants? Perlite is the perfect complement to our special humic acid substrate for Camellia sinensis – ensuring optimal aeration, drainage, and root health.

Perlite is a natural, expanded volcanic rock that adds structure to the substrate, drains excess water, and simultaneously retains moisture. This is crucial for stable growth, especially for tea plants, which are sensitive to waterlogging.

Our recommendation: Mix 10–30% perlite into our slightly acidic humic substrate (pH 4.2) to improve soil structure and optimize the air-water balance. Young tea plants and cuttings especially benefit from this loose and germ-free mixture.

Perlite is pH-neutral, durable, and reusable—ideal for sustainable plant cultivation. Combined with our RHP-certified substrate, it creates an ideal environment for healthy, aromatic tea plants—without compromise.

Whether for cultivation, repotting, or as a permanent soil improvement: With perlite and our substrate, you get the most out of your tea plant – completely naturally, completely controlled.
